Cairngorm 4000 Course Information
The Cairngorms 4000ers is one of Scotland’s classic hillwalking challenges. This incredible loop takes in the five peaks of the Cairngorms Mountain range that hit 4000ft, taking in Ben MacDui, Devils Point, Cairn Toul, Angel’s Peak and Braeriach. Day one sees you to the top of Ben MacDui and down into the Lairig Ghru, where you can set up camp under the stars. You can even brave a dip in the Dee to freshen up! Day two will send you back up to the summits to traverse a stunning ridge. Your efforts will be rewarded with jaw-dropping views and the remaining four peaks of the challenge.
This trip is suitable for those with previous hillwalking experience and a good level of fitness is required. We will do the guiding for you so no navigational skills are necessary.
*Routes can become more challenging in windy conditions. In some conditions, we may re-route to ensure the safety and well-being of the group.
Day 1:
- 9am Depart from Aviemore
- Cairngorm & Ben MacDui
- Set up camp in the magnificent Lairig Ghru
Day 2:
- Braeriach Traverse encompassing all 4 of the big peaks and then dropping back down through the famous Chalamain Gap.
- 4pm Return to Aviemore
