Winter Outdoor Adventures in the Highlands for all
Highland Outdoor Adventures offers winter skills courses from Aviemore at Cairngorm Mountain, the best venue to learn in the whole of Scotland – with its reliable snow, better weather than the west, and shorter walk-ins than elsewhere, we can maximise your learning time in the environment.
We have courses ranging from a single day to a full week where you will learn how to travel safely in the mountains in winter using climbing boots, crampons, axes, ropes … and of course maps and compasses. We also provide winter mountaineering courses which are more suited to people who have some experience in winter walking already and will want to travel in steeper terrain. We pride ourselves in being inclusive and the minimum age for these courses is 10. But we need you to discuss with us (by email or phone) before booking if you plan on bringing a young person between 10- 15 on the activity, as we will set up a private bespoke course for you.
We only supply you with the very best equipment (grivel)for your winter course so you will get the most out of the trip.
An introductory winter skills course for all. Learn to navigate successfully and travel safely in the mountains in winter. Based around Cairngorm - Scotland best venue for winter skills.
A two day course with greater skill building than the introductory course and adding some ropework elements which are useful to know in order to safeguard ourselves in winter. Day 2 follows on from the 1 day course.
