Cairngorm Classic Rock Routes
The one-day classic Cairngorm rock climbing routes course in the Cairngorms, Scotland, is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to climb some of the most iconic routes in the region. The course will be led by experienced climbing instructors, who will guide participants through a selection of classic routes, providing instruction on technique, route finding, and communication with partners. Participants will have the opportunity to climb routes such as the Pinnacle Ridge or the Fingers Ridge on a variety of different crags (selected on the day based off the weather and abilities/aims) like Sneachda, Shelterstone, Stag Rocks and Hell’s Lum. The course is suitable for climbers of all levels and provides an excellent opportunity to explore the stunning rock climbing terrain of the Cairngorms.
Cairngorm Classic Rock Routes Itinerary
The one-day classic Cairngorm rock climbing routes course in the Cairngorms, Scotland, is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to climb some of the most iconic routes in the region. The course will begin with a meet and greet with the instructors and a safety briefing, followed by instruction on climbing techniques, equipment selection, and route finding. Participants will then have the opportunity to climb a selection of classic routes under the guidance of the instructors, with instruction on communication with partners and gear placement.
The routes chosen for the day will be tailored to the experience and skill level of the group. Throughout the day, the instructors will provide feedback on technique and provide guidance on how to improve performance. The day will conclude with a debrief and discussion of the day’s experiences, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and provide feedback. Overall, the course offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning rock climbing terrain of the Cairngorms while developing climbing skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced instructors.

We pride ourselves on providing as much kit as possible for you. However, the list below is what we recommend you should bring to your Cairngorms Classic Rock Routes Course:
- Travel insurance. (We are insured for all our trips, but we recommend everyone has their own travel insurance as well.)
- Transportation to the venue. (We may be able to help with this though – if you need transportation please drop us an enquiry and we can see what we can do to help.)
- Lunch, water.
- Personal medication
- Sun cream, midge net
- Waterproofs (it is Scotland after all)
- Sturdy footwear.
- Climbing shoes.

If the weather is less favourable we will bring a GoPro (as it is waterproof) so we will still be able to take photos for you.
